
The time is ripe and rife now to broach the "Social Media Death Imminent" question before one and all!
Social Media would soon suffer its death pangs! Yes, and I believe this would largely stem from the nonversations of its ever growing practitioners who are least social in output and approach! Social media is fast evolving towards sub-media or sub-par media!
The nonversations of a growing tribe of self-styled protagonists of social media are reducing this hugely powerful and interactive platform to a spammable forum that inspires ennui and hate and disillusion to the sincere few!
Most of the time most of the people are found talking to the back of their hands! Even when they are on Facebook with their bunch of buddies sticking around, nobody gives a damn to what is being said! 'Likes' are hard to elicit, let alone comments. There is no collaborative energy at all! Whatever semblance of it, one may evidence, is really a made-up one, for strategic promotional purposes by various strategists! What a sham!
What one gets to hear in the name of Social Media, is part monologues and part nonversations with no nuggets of useful information/advice doing rounds. Just a shallow pitcher, jostling for space and attention before the indifferent fingers of some Facebook or Twitter window shoppers! Trash goes around and comes back! I call it e-waste and it is one helluva damaging to the ecology. THE SOCIAL MEDIA NOISE- beyond the compass of any decibel known to us!
Who can stop Social Media from its imminent fall!
