Hangovers are so common after those wild weekends, or frenzied championship matches, or any other excuse for consuming massive amounts of alcohols. We all know what to do to cope with such downtimes when even operating a toilet flush seems a big challenge. After all brain cells do get killed by alcohol!
We all know in such times of inner volcanic distress taking carb-rich food, drinking lots of water, hitting the sack, bath are home-grown truths. However, there is yet another un/known POWERFUL RECIPE for a perfect hangover recovery: The Organic Cocktail.
Stop all thought and pay your due respects to your hangover and just let your breath out! Now collect these organic ingredients from your departmental store, driving under 40mph. Here goes the list for you:
Now down the glass and close your eyes. Your hangover will be gone.
Repeat if twice if need be.
1) A To-Do List @ Any Cost
If there is clutter in your house, anxiety is sure to be present. If there is chaos in your professional work space, anxiety gnaws at you. If there is no organized flow of thoughts, manic anxiety feeds on you in so many ways. Whether it is your stuff or thoughts or moods or habits, if you are not organized, your life will become one boat-load of anxiety. So look no further. Just take a piece of paper or better open an excel sheet and draw up a things-to-do list.
With full trust, go on and write down your priorities for the day, the habits you wish to adopt, people you wish to avoid, the foods you need to give up, the languages you desire to learn, the castle of dreams that you so desperately wish to turn into a reality. Do this tirelessly every single day. Not only will you find your stress is minimized, a better sense of control and visible direction will come into your life.
Now, go on completing tasks from your list before taking up newer ones. Strike off the tasks completed, micro-goals achieved before even thinking about the remaining ones. A trick here is to stop welcoming any other thought till you finish your tasks in line with your list. Have goals but have them in moderation in accordance with the resources/abilities you know you possess. Anxiety will be a thing of the past.
2) Forgive like a King
I know this sounds strange as a piece of advice. However, this is the real, true-tone secret of burying those anxiety attacks. Do not make your hurts immortal. They never make good bedfellows. Make companions with serenity, calm, joy, compassion and egolessness, to whatever extent possible. Medical research tells us that feelings of anger, vengeance and negativity burden our body-mind and kick-off anxiety. A saying goes, “A calm heart is the life of the organism.”
Go and save your breaths from the embers of hurt, fear, bitterness and all negation. We are after all the number of breaths we take! And nobody can take infinite breaths and so we have this event called Death. Death is nothing but a breath count that is exhausted. Remember this and go on forgiving people, denying any space to negative feelings in your body-mind. It will be difficult, for sure, but you’d surely experience a miracle touching your lives. A new-you will be there floating in waves of peace, quietude, health and joy. Far too many people will be looking up to you for being successful and in control of their lives. Your own success will only be a by-product—so effortlessly found!
We all must have had uptight feelings, apprehensions, jitters, anxiety attacks and bouts of tension. There are endless reams of paper and online space devoted to tackling these normal reactions to events labeled as Stress and whatever.
Even so, I am going to tell you about a very simple, tested and totally FREE way to kill away all that stress. My personal experience has been to simply curl up in bed (not with a book however) and start pretending to sleep. In fact you must try hard to sleep forgetting every other sane/insane thing. A good and very healthy prop while trying to sleep is to just imagine stretches of blue light all around and somehow trying to get lost in it consciously.
I am sure you’d have difficulty in canceling out all other thoughts when pushing yourself to sleep. However, with practice, you would master this art of going to bed and catching some sleep visualizing blue light flooding you. Once you’d get used to it, you would not tire of thanking me for such an innocuous and medicine free way to induce a stress and anxiety free state. And just remember, problems are a part of the “great circle of Life.”
Happy Sleep, then!
Stomach gas is a universal health culprit and none is lucky to be immune from it. Consuming ill-cooked, spicy or oily foods, overheating, too much intake of alcohol, tea, coffee or aerated drinks and eating over constipated stomach are quite common causes of gastritis. However, no less powerful but quite often ignored causes include tension, grief, stress, anxiety and use of certain drugs.
The answer of modern medicine is mostly in the form of antacids which are nothing but salts of calcium, sodium, magnesium, or aluminium. These neutralizers being external agents are only effective for as much time. Worse still they don’t come without side-effects. Prolonged and habitual use is known to damage your bones. heart and even kidneys. Some antacids kick off dizziness, headaches, diarrhea, and even fatigue!
A natural and most effective way out is the 5,000 year old science of Ayurveda which really works well with holistic, miraculous and lasting results. Consider this remedy provided by a preparation called “Amritdhara”. Amritdhara solution is prepared using five herbal ingredients like Ajwain [Carum Copticum], Pudina [Mint], Clove Oil, Camphor, and Eucalyptus Oil. Available in Ayurveda medicine pharmacies, 3-4 drops of Amritdhara solution added to half-a-glass of lukewarm water (3 times a day) not only relieves stomach gas, pain, flatulence, heaviness, and indigestion but also has side-benefits. Yes!
Though this very beneficial Ayurvedic remedy is mentioned in the context of stomach gas and acidity, yet it is found to be immensely helpful in various types of digestive disorders including diarrhea. Not many people know that it can be part of your First- Aid kit! External application of Amritdhara in cases of cuts, insect bites headaches and sinus cases has brought the much-needed relief.
Talking of the great Ayurveda solutions, I am also reminded of the excellent healing and coolant properties of rice gruel, coconut water and potato juice in ending the gastritis menace. Half-cup to one cup, two times a day of these juices are recommended without any risk of side-effects.
Before I round off this post, I must tell you that while taking any of these natural remedies, please give up your intake of caffeinated & aerated beverages, alcohol, smoke, spices, pastries, sauces, cakes and all oily food. Instead supplement your diet with fresh fruit salads, yogurt, 8 to 10 glasses of water, cottage cheese, fruit juices and nuts.
